Product Review: San San Twist Eyebrow Pen

Eyebrows are like emojis that convey different emotions. Reshaping your eyebrows could give a big impact on your entire face. A simple arch could give your eyes a lift; flat or a bit straight brows represents youth; while super thin arched eyebrows could make you look old and unapproachable. There are different types of eyebrow shapes depending on your face shape.

Whichever way you want to reshape them, using an eyebrow pencil is a must. It gives precision to your brows' shape and accentuates the eyes even more.

Today, I am going to be reviewing San San Twist Eyebrow Pen. I was looking for the traditional pencil and not the retractable one because it's a lot cheaper but the HBC branch often go to didn't have that item's stock. This is how it looks:

It doesn't have a pointy tip so it gives a good
and natural smudge upon application.

What I got was brown.
The lady was handing me the black one
which I thought too dark for my hair color.

Here's how my brows look when they're bare.

And here's when drawn on.

If you have oily skin, it goes best with any eyebrow mascara of your choice and if you are going to be out for a long time.

Pros:
  • It's best for people who often misplace their sharpener. You won't worry anymore once the tip gets dull since it's retractable.
  • It's an eyebrow pencil on a budget for less than a hundred pesos (Php 98) or $2.28. Consumable for 2 to 3 months in my estimation, unlike the traditional pencil which gets easily used up.
  • It comes with different shades to choose from.
Cons:
  • It won't work for people who have oily skin without backing it up with brow mascara.
  • It has wax content (like most brow pencils would) so it won't last without retouch.

Recommendations:
  • Will I recommend it? Yes. Especially for makeup enthusiasts who are just starting to explore the world of cosmetics. It really fits the budget.
  • Will I repurchase? Yes, until I find the best brow pencil for me.

  2. Your eyebrows look fantastic. However, I have oily skin, so I don't think this would work well for me. :]

    1. Hi Carmen! I think it'd work too if you coat it with a brow mascara afterwards. I'm heading to your blog now, thank you! <3

  3. If you're looking for a great retractable brow pencil, I highly suggest The SAEM Saemmul Artlook Brow Pencil. It's very easy to apply, has a slanted edge that makes shaping (even up to the eyebrow tail) effortless, and comes with a spoolie on the other end, so in one product you've got everything you need for well-groomed brows.

Unfortunately I don't know any place in the Philippines that sells it, even online (Althea has The SAEM products but I haven't seen the Artlook pen posted there yet). I bought mine in Cambodia. But if you do happen to come across it, you won't regret buying it. :D
